Readability Research Foundation is a project of non-profit Readability Matters. All contributions to Readability Research Foundation are used in whole by itself. Membership in RRF is free, and those interested in becoming members or community meetings can request an apply here.

RRF Mission Statement: Readability, how the appearance of text impacts how each person can make meaning of text, is a vast topic that definitionally exceeds the scope of any one expert in a particular domain. The Readability Research Foundation exists in fundamental recognition of this fact, and is the big tent under which we can all share knowledge, research, questions, and practice that advance reading and readability for all. We explicitly welcome experts from all areas, disciplines, practices, and perspectives who are interested in pooling knowledge to improve our collective understanding of readability, because no one member of the community has all the answers.

RRF Leadership Model: The RRF is governed by the co-equal Scientific Council and Executive Council, which work in concert to advance the foundation's mission. The Scientific Council is composed of researchers with terminal degrees in relevant fields, organizes the monthly community meetings, and helps to capture the wide scope of readability research. The Executive Council is composed of members who share in the Foundation’s mission, with a particular focus on disseminating research for broad impact.
